Toby, Maine. Paul started pitching in 1947 and he has competed 18 times
in the Maine State Championship, all in class A. He won the title twice,
finished 2nd twice, 3rd six times, 4th once and 5th four times. In the New England Meet he pitched 13 years, and his best finish was 3rd, but in his last seven New England meets he averaged 65.9% with a high in 1971 of 70.2% for 15 games. He won the Greater Lowell Invitation in 1973 and in four Maine Warm-up meets he finished 2nd twice and 3rd twice. Paul pitched in the Maine Open 6 times, winning once, and he played in Keene Open 7 times. His best years so far have been from 1964 through 1976 - in 40 tournaments he pitched in during that time, his ringer percent was over 60% twenty six times and in 9 of those meets he averaged over 66%. |
