Bev Forgues started her horseshoe career at the "Sodbusters Horseshoe Pitching Club" in Middlebury, Vermont. She joined the women's auxiliary in 1970. In 1974, when the auxiliary merged with the men, she became a regular member of the NHPA and has been every year since.

Bev is married to Roger Forgues Sr., and lives in Bristol, Vermont. They have 6 children, Roger Jr., Chuck, Tom, Joe, Rich, and Jim. She throws a right handed flip with Gordon's or Ted Allen's.

One of the offices Bev has held was being the club recorder for several years. She held the office of Tournament Director in 1978, and was extremely helpful to her husband, Roger Forgues Sr. when he held that office. She has been the League Secretary and Contact Person for the NHPA starting in 1984 through 1998. In 1997, Bev was selected for "Director of the Year" by the NHPA, for her many years of service. This was the only "Sanction League" in Vermont, until 1997, when Milton sanctioned their League.

Bev received the "Sodbusters Special Recognition Award in 1983.

In 1987, Bev was inducted into the Vermont Hall of Fame as an Organizer/Pitcher.

Beverly pitchers in the mid 40% to 60% range, and you can find her in Class A. Bev was the Vermont Women's State Champion for the years of 1977 and 1982. In 1977, Class A with a record of 9 wins and 1 loss; averaging 49.0%, High game of 54.0%. In 1982, Class A with a record of 6 and 0, averaging 60.6%. Bev has played in Class A of the Vermont State Tournament since 1972. Her best State average was in 1992, where she placed 2nd with a record of 6 and 1, 64.9%, High Game of 78.3%.

Her first Class A tournament was in 1973 at the Vermont Northern at the Sodbusters Club with a record of 5 and 3 averaging 23.3%, High game of 34.0%. Her personal best was at the Fall Roundup 9in 1992 with a record of 4 and 3, averaging 67.1%, high game of 78.6%.

Bev has participated in numerous New England Tournaments throughout her career. Her first Women's Class A was in 1977, finishing in 6th place with an average of 31.2%. Bev's best finish in the New England's was in 1992, finishing in 2nd place with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses, averaging her best high of 64.4%. In 1991, finished in 4th place with a 55.6%.

The New England HPA is very proud and fortunate to have Beverly Forgues inducted into the New England Hall of Fame as a Pitcher.
