Donald Kaddy, Fitchburg, Mass. Started in 1959. Don won the Fitchburg City Championship five years in a row. He had a relatively short career as top horseshoe pitcher. He started in 1962 and finished in 1969, due to a heart condition.

During that time he had an impressive record. He won the Mass. State Championship in 1968 and 1969 and finished second four times, and third once, averaging 70%.

In the New England meet in eight tries, he finished first once; second three times fourth once and third twice; and seventh once out of sixteen players. In the Mass. Open he finished first, second, third and fourth in four tries. In the Keene Open he won once, third twice and fourth twice. He also won the Western Mass. Six times in a tow and finished fifth once. Averaging 67%.

His best single tournament was in the 1966 Mass. State where he averaged 78%, but finished second to Edgar Landry. In 1968, he won the Western Mass. The Mass. State, and the New England Championship. He finished second in the Mass. Open with his lowest % being 67.1%. Don won Class C of the World Meet in 1965, winning 5 and losing 2 with an average of 66%. In 1968 he was eliminated in the preliminary round of Class B, even though he averaged 66.8% for 7 games.
