Georgina of Chesterfield, New Hampshire was never a fellow who scored a
great amount of ringers in a tournament, but would score a great amount
of respect and admiration from his fellow players during any tournaments
he would run or participate in. Lester's biggest contribution to the game was his willingness to organize tournaments, promote the game, and to teach new members how to improve their game. He helped organize local clubs, to develop and build new courts. Lester started playing horseshoes about 30 years ago. He helped to organize the Brattleboro Vermont Horseshoe Club, and to build the 16 clay courts at Living Memorial Park in Brattleboro. In 1965-1966 Lester served as 3rd Vice President of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association. A high honor for any one member. His best ringer average was about 47% a few years ago in a Vermont Open Tournament. WELCOME TO OUR HALL OF FAME LESTER |
