In 1981 he started bringing back the results of the New England players pitching in the World Tournament. In 1986 he became Publicity Director for New England. In 1988 he became a member of the N.H.P.A. Publicity Comm., with Bob Champion and started the New England Ringer Newspaper. He has a book with all N.E. tourneys, 1929-1991. He started making individual shirts for all New England States in 1988. He started designing shirts for New England tourneys in 199,1989,1990 and 1991. He had a banner made of all New England States and Clubs to take to the World Tournament in Beloxi, Miss. In 1991. Many people commented it as Richard being the nicest one there. He kept after "BUD" until they donated pocket schedules of all the New England tourneys in 1991. They were well liked by all the players. He sent, in 1989 a 60th anniversary shirt to President Bush. Also a membership from the state of Maine had bumper stickers "Hugs are better than drugs" for the New England Horseshoe Pitchers Association. The bumper stickers are all over the USA. He has designed and sold Jackets with the New England logo on the back. He had many ideas that have been and will be of great help to horseshoes and has worked very hard. Our son and I worked right by his side. We are horseshoe people. It isn't always easy, but it is a wonderful thing to be a part of.
