1987
After an affiliation with this sport since 1934, Russ was inducted into the N.E.H.P.A. Hall of Fame at the annual Meeting held on September 6, 1987 as an Organizer. The highlights of his activities and accomplishments are as follows:

He was an active player and organizer at the Quincy Club from 1934-1940.

In 1969 he was instrumental in reactivating the St, Moritz Club in Quincy, which had become inactive during the war years. Russ served as President and Director for five years.

In 1971 he was elected Secretary/Treasurer to the N.H.P.A. and served until 1976. During this time period several new ideas were introduced and implemented to improve and create additional interest in the state association.

At the World Tournament in 1975 he received an N.H.P.A. Recognition Award for his devotion as a representative to the N.H.P.A.

In 1975 he was inducted into the N.H.P.A. Hall of Fame as an Organizer. In 1979 he became the first member to be inducted both as an Organizer and Player.

During the early 1970's he sponsored a very active junior program.

In addition to his organizational activities Russ held the title of Ma. State Champion for three consecutive years 1970-1972.
